How do tutors set their lesson fees and availability?

Approved tutors can set their own lesson fees and available teaching times through their tutor dashboard. Fees should be reasonable and must be entered in the currency and format supported by the Platform.

Tutors are responsible for keeping their availability accurate and up to date. Before opening a time slot, tutors should make sure they are available and able to provide the required third-party meeting link.

Any applicable platform commission, payment processing fees, taxes, refunds or chargebacks will be handled according to the Platform’s Terms and Conditions and settlement rules.

What commission does Online Tutor Alliance charge tutors?

Tutors set their own lesson and course fees.

Online Tutor Alliance currently charges 0% platform commission on one-to-one live lessons, 20% on live group classes, and 30% on recorded courses.

These rates refer to platform commission only. Third-party payment processing fees, applicable taxes, refunds or chargebacks may be calculated separately. Any applicable charges will be shown or communicated to tutors before settlement.

How do I apply to become a tutor?

Click “Apply to Teach” and create an account or sign in. Complete your tutor profile with accurate information about your teaching experience, qualifications, subjects, teaching levels, availability and lesson fees, and upload any supporting documents requested by the Platform.

Your application will be reviewed before your tutor profile is approved and published. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. You may be asked to provide additional information or verification documents.
