Online Tutor Alliance does not currently provide a built-in video-conferencing or recording tool. Tutors are responsible for providing a suitable third-party meeting link for live lessons.

A lesson must not be recorded unless all participants have given their prior informed consent. If a student is under 18, consent from the student’s parent or legal guardian is also required. Users must also follow the terms and privacy rules of the third-party meeting service.

Yes, teachers can conduct lessons using a mobile device. Yo!Coach is fully mobile responsive and can be accessed through mobile browsers seamlessly. However, currently, there is no dedicated mobile application available for the platform.

Students or parents can browse tutor profiles, compare subjects, teaching levels, experience, availability and lesson fees, and select a suitable tutor.

For a one-to-one lesson, choose an available date and time and complete the booking and payment process. After the booking is confirmed, the lesson will appear in the user’s schedule. The tutor is responsible for providing the third-party meeting link needed to attend the lesson.

A trial lesson allows a student to meet a tutor, discuss learning goals and experience the tutor’s teaching style before booking further lessons.

If a tutor offers trial lessons, the trial option, duration and fee will be displayed on the tutor’s profile. Select an available time and complete the booking process. Trial lessons are not necessarily free; the applicable price will be shown before confirmation.

The tutor will provide the third-party meeting link for the trial lesson. The cancellation and rescheduling rules shown at booking will apply.

Unless a different access period is clearly stated on the course page before purchase, recorded courses currently include ongoing access through the purchaser’s account without a fixed expiry date.

Access is personal and cannot be transferred or shared. It remains subject to the user’s account being in good standing, the continued operation of the Platform, and the Platform and tutor retaining the legal right to provide the content.

If a course must be removed for legal, safety or serious technical reasons, the Platform will take reasonable steps to notify affected students and may provide replacement access, Platform balance, or an appropriate full or partial refund.

Yes. A parent or legal guardian can create a Parent account, add their child’s information and book suitable lessons or courses on the child’s behalf.

Parents are responsible for ensuring that the tutor and course are suitable for their child, providing accurate information, managing bookings and payments, and providing appropriate supervision during online lessons.

Children under 13 must use the Platform through a Parent account and must not independently create or manage an account.

If a student cancels at least 12 hours before the scheduled start time, the student may request one rescheduling or a full refund to the original payment method or Platform balance, subject to payment-provider limitations.

If a student cancels less than 12 hours before the lesson or does not attend, the lesson is normally non-refundable. If the tutor cancels or does not attend, the student may choose a full refund or free rescheduling.

A full refund may be requested within 24 hours after purchase, provided the first class has not started.

After the initial 24-hour period, students may cancel at least 48 hours before the first class and receive a full refund as Platform balance. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the first class, or withdrawals after the course has started, are normally non-refundable.

If a tutor cancels the entire class, affected students will receive a full refund. If an individual session is cancelled, the tutor should arrange a replacement session. If a replacement cannot be provided, the affected session will be refunded proportionately.

A refund may be requested within 7 days after purchase if no more than 10% of the total course content has been viewed and no downloadable course materials have been downloaded.

Refunds are normally not available after more than 10% of the course has been viewed, substantial course materials have been accessed, or the 7-day period has expired.

Duplicate purchases may be refunded after verification. If a material technical problem prevents access and cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, the Platform may provide replacement access, Platform balance, or a full or partial refund. Repeated or abusive refund requests may be refused.

Tutor earnings become eligible for settlement after the relevant lesson or course has been completed and any applicable refund or dispute conditions have been satisfied.

The actual payout time depends on the Platform’s current settlement schedule, completion of the tutor’s identity and payment verification, and the processing time of the payment provider or financial institution.

Refunds, chargebacks, suspected fraud, incomplete verification or a breach of the Platform’s Terms and Conditions may delay or adjust a payout. The applicable amount and payout status can be viewed in the tutor dashboard where this function is available.

Click “Apply to Teach” and create an account or sign in. Complete your tutor profile with accurate information about your teaching experience, qualifications, subjects, teaching levels, availability and lesson fees, and upload any supporting documents requested by the Platform.

Your application will be reviewed before your tutor profile is approved and published. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. You may be asked to provide additional information or verification documents.

Tutors set their own lesson and course fees.

Online Tutor Alliance currently charges 0% platform commission on one-to-one live lessons, 20% on live group classes, and 30% on recorded courses.

These rates refer to platform commission only. Third-party payment processing fees, applicable taxes, refunds or chargebacks may be calculated separately. Any applicable charges will be shown or communicated to tutors before settlement.

Approved tutors can set their own lesson fees and available teaching times through their tutor dashboard. Fees should be reasonable and must be entered in the currency and format supported by the Platform.

Tutors are responsible for keeping their availability accurate and up to date. Before opening a time slot, tutors should make sure they are available and able to provide the required third-party meeting link.

Any applicable platform commission, payment processing fees, taxes, refunds or chargebacks will be handled according to the Platform’s Terms and Conditions and settlement rules.
